Greetings from Moonbase Alpha

Thirty years ago, Earth’s moon was torn from the planet’s orbit in what has become known as catastrophe Breakway, a catastrophic event that undoubtedly effected Earth, but for those on Moonbase Alpha – They were three hundred and eleven souls isolated in space on a moon travelling through the dark abyss.

It is unknown what has happened to Earth, but the resilient crew of Moonbase Alpha survived. For years they navigated uncharted space, experiencing spatial phenomena, encountering alien civilizations. They defied science and tested the limits of the human spirit. Many lives were lost along the way, but hope was never destroyed.

Weathered and weary, the aging Moonbase Crew under the leadership of Commander John Konieg found a habitable planet where many chose to settle. It offered peace, a night’s sky full of stars, and soil… something many hadn’t felt in decades. Many left with Konieg and Dr. Helena Russell to settle Terra Alpha, but others remained to continue the journey.

The skeletal contingent of scientists, engineers, physicians, and systems specialists were driven by duty, wander, and a belief that Alpha’s mission was not yet complete. As the Moon continued its endless journey through deep space, these last Alphans initiated a bold contingency plan: Project Genesis—a cryogenic storage effort preserving sperm, eggs, and select DNA samples from the original crew and approved donors. Through in vitro fertilization, embryos were carefully created in sterile labs deep beneath the lunar surface. Some were implanted into surrogate volunteers. Others were carried in artificial gestation chambers. The result was a quiet, improbable rebirth of humanity on Moonbase Alpha... children, raised not on Earth but within the steel and silence of Moonbase Alpha itself.

They knew no seasons, oceans, nor skies. Their comforts were the only things they have ever known: gravity plating, generators, and the calming hum of life support systems. Now, in 2029, those children have matured and were mentored in all aspects of Moonbase Alpha which is alive once again, operated by a new generation of crew and under the leaderships of one of their own, Commander Aisha Stratus.

At the heart of this crew is Commander Aisha Stratus, one of the first successful births following Project Genesis. Born in a controlled habitat pod, she now leads the base with quiet resolve and deep curiosity. Haunted by dreams of Earth she never knew, Aisha carries both the burden and the hope of what it means to lead a people born from memory, not history. Moonbase Alpha continues forward untethered and unpredictable.
